Integrated Kabbalistic
Healingsm (IKHsm)
meets you where you are right
now and assists your quest for transformation, healing, and living an
authentic
life. Our goal is ultimately to become more human and to learn to share
our
humanity with others.
The Kabbalistic healer works with the relationships and
attributes of the Tree
of Life. The Tree is made up of the characteristics of God that are
held in
relationship to one another. We are reflections of the Tree of Life.
These
characteristics are frequently out of balance. The IKHsm
healer
works with the client to bring the characteristics into balance.
The healing helps to initiate a new level of
consciousness in the client's life
and old patterns of relating change, often rapidly. Many levels at once
are
affected because every part of the Tree is in dynamic relationship with
every
other part. In looking at the underlying conditions, the healer traces
cause
and effect, and comes to a deeper understanding of the client who in
turn
experiences a deeper understanding of self. Some consider this work to
include
psycho-spiritual counseling.
Working with these characteristics is like working with
a stone that has come
out of place in the foundation of a building, thus jeopardizing its
stability.
When it is returned to its rightful place, it creates shifts throughout
the
entire building, restoring order and stability.
IKHsm integrates 13th century
Kabbalistic wisdom, the latest
theories in quantum physics, 20th century psychological insight and
teachings
of non-duality into a deeply transformative healing modality. Kabbalah
consists
of a large body of thought on the nature of divinity, creation, the
origin and
fate of the soul, and the role of human beings.
An Integrated Kabbalistic Healing session takes about
one to one and a quarter
hours. IKH can be done in person or in a distance healing.
Foot Reflexology
stimulates the reflex points on the feet that correspond to all parts
of the
body via a "foot massage." This gentle, but powerful, therapy
encourages the
body to heal itself at its own pace. Reflexology is a holistic healing
practice
used to help promote health and well-being. Reflexology relaxes while
stimulating the body's own healing mechanisms.
Foot Reflexology was developed by Eunice Ingham in the
1930's, building on the
work of William H. Fitzgerald, M.D. There is some evidence that some
form of
Foot Reflexology was used as long ago as 5,000 years ago in Egypt. Foot
Reflexology is an ancient form of "pressure treatment" and involves
applying
focused pressure to certain known "reflex" points located in the foot,
which
correspond to certain other areas in the body. Foot Reflexology is a
science
founded on the basis that areas of the feet are comprised of zones and
reflex
areas that correspond to all glands, organs, and bodily systems. Foot
Reflexology is a technique whereby pressure is applied to these areas
resulting
in stress reduction.
About seventy-five percent of disease can be attributed
to nervous tension,
otherwise known as stress. Reflexology is known to relax the body and
ease this
tension by helping the body systems to work more effectively. When the
body is
balanced it has its own natural healing ability. Using Foot Reflexology
promotes physiological improvements in the body. Some of the recognized
benefits from receiving a Reflexology treatment include increased
circulation,
relaxation, and release of tensions. Reflexology can give you a
complete
feeling of relaxation and well-being.
It is amazing how accurately the feet reveal the state
of the body. Often a
persons physical conditions and symptoms can be identified through the
congested areas of the feet that are detected during a session. For
example, in
working with someone who has sinusitis there is often tenderness in the
sinus
reflex areas on the feet. The physical results are often quick as a
result of
the treatment. Chronic conditions may take a series of regular sessions
to
provide improvement. Reflex points in the feet are massaged or
stimulated to
normalize the function of the body's internal organs. Foot Reflexology
works to
bring balance to the system thereby supporting the body's own healing
abilities.
A Foot Reflexology session takes about an hour.
Reiki (pronounced
Ray'-Key) is an old and powerful Japanese hands-on healing method that
promotes
healing on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Reiki
brings
about a synchronizing and energizing of vital meridians and acupuncture
points
while gently aligning and balancing the major energy centers. Reiki
restores,
balances and aligns us on all levels so that we may live healthier and
happier
lives. A Reiki session relaxes and enhances our well-being.
Reiki is believed to have begun in Tibet several
thousand years ago. Dr. Mikao
Usui, a Japanese Christian educator in Kyoto, Japan, rediscovered the
root
system in the mid- to late 1800s. Dr. Usui began an extensive
twenty-one-year
study of the healing phenomena of history's greatest spiritual leaders.
He also
studied ancient sutras (Buddhist teachings written in Sanskrit). He
discovered
ancient sounds and symbols that are linked directly to the human body
and
nervous system which activate the universal life energy for healing.
Dr. Usui
then underwent a metaphysical experience and became empowered to use
these
sounds and symbols to heal. He called this form of healing Reiki and
taught it
throughout Japan until his death around 1893. The tradition was passed
through
several grandmasters of Reiki such as Dr. Chujiro Hyashi, Hawayo
Takata, and
Phyllis Lei Furumoto. Reiki was introduced to the Western world in the
mid-1970s. Since then its use has spread dramatically worldwide.
Reiki is a method of natural healing based on the
application of Universal
Life Force Energy (the name literally means Universal
Life Force
Energy). Since the word Reiki means Universal
Life Force
Energy, it (strictly speaking) refers to the energy and not
the specific
techniques taught by Reiki Masters. The techniques are more properly
called
theUsui System of Natural Healing after the
founder of the system, Dr.
Mikao Usui. However as Reikiis the
common name this is the commonly used name for this
healing technique.
Reiki is one of the more widely
known forms of energy healing. Energy
Healing involves direct application of Chi for the
purpose of
strengthening the client's energy system (aura). Chi is the term used
by the
Chinese mystics and martial artists for the underlying force the
Universe is
made of. Its relative term in Japanese it is known as "Ki." Mystics in
all
cultures have talked about the physical universe being made of an
underlying
form of something, much as modern physics research is now coming to
understand
the Universe is made of energy which is subject to (or affected by)
thought.
Just as modern physics says this energy is affected by thought
the mystics
also say this underlying form is affected by thought.
Reiki practitioners channel energy in a particular
pattern to heal and
harmonize. Unlike other healing therapies based on the premise of a
human
energy field, Reiki seeks to restore order to the body whose vital
energy has
become unbalanced. Reiki has several basic effects: it brings about
deep
relaxation, opens energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new
vitality in the form of healing universal life energy, and increases
the
vibrational frequency of the body.
A Reiki session involves light or no-touch hands-on work
and takes about an
hour. Reiki can be done in person or in a distance healing.
Transformational Breathwork
When we change the way we breathe, our world is
transformed. We find more peace
and joy in each moment. Our lives continually improve.
A Power of the Breath session
allows the client to experience and
understand their own breathing patterns. Through this experience the
client
sees more clearly their breathing deficiencies. Information is given
and
discussed about why the breath becomes deficient. The client then is
shown how
to correct their breathing process. Methods to open the breath and
practices to
improve breathing are taught. This supports the client's journey to
better
health, increases relaxation, reduces stress, and increases energy.
Transformational Breath (TB) is a
natural healing method that
mobilizes the body's resources toward wholeness and well-being. TB
works on the
level of cause as opposed to only treating symptoms. TB is a powerful
technique
to release old issues and traumas, change behaviors, open the breath,
increase
energy, and support positive transformation. The mind/body/spirit
system is
healthiest when the breath is not restricted.
TB increases oxygen levels and breathing capacity by
restructuring individual
breathing patterns so that a client's air volume increases, by two or
three
times or more. Many times physical, mental, and emotional symptoms
disappear in
clients with chronic or acute symptoms after practicing TB. It is
conclusive
evidence that air and oxygen play an important role not only in staying
healthy
but also in treating and eliminating diseases.
Physically, the Transformational Breath process analyzes
and opens the breath.
This opening provides more energy, balance and optimum health. Mentally
and
emotionally, this process works with the high energy of the breath to
permanently clear and entrain repressed memories and emotions. On the
Spiritual
level, the Transformational Breathing is used for opening to higher
aspects of
consciousness and spiritual expressions.
TB helps to improve your health from the inside out.
Restrictive breathing
patterns support subconscious defense mechanisms to "stuff down"
unpleasant
emotions. In fact, such unhealthy breathing patterns are often the
result of
previous attempts to cope with traumatic emotional or physical events
dating
back as early as birth. When feelings go unexpressed they are
consciously
repressed or subconsciously "suppressed" (i.e., stored in the mind and
body as
chronic tension). It is inevitable that unexpressed feelings or
emotions are
eventually expressed as pain and disease. Since feelings are a form of
energy,
which cannot be destroyed, but can only change form, it is our work to
transform this energy before it causes disease in our bodies and/or
minds.
As a state of the art healing and regenerative process,
TB utilizes a specific
breathing pattern that clears past repressed traumas, revitalizes the
physical,
and transforms emotional and mental traumas on the cellular level.
Maximum
physical and emotional benefits along with expanded states of awareness
are the
natural products of increased oxygenation that TB brings.
A TB session takes about one and one-half hours and
includes a one-hour
facilitated breathing session.
Homeopathic and Naturopathic
Care
Principles of Naturopathy
- The Healing Power of Nature
- Identify and Treat the Cause
- Doctor as Teacher
- First Do No Harm
- Prevention
Naturopathy is a distinct system of health care founded
on the principle that
the body has the inherent ability to establish, maintain, and restore
health.
The naturopath's role is to facilitate and support the process. By
identifying
and removing obstacles to health and recovery, naturopaths help to
enhance the
body's innate healing process.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy works with the whole person - physical,
mental, emotional - treats
each person individually. Homeopathy is based on the principle that
"like cures
like," that is, if a substance can cause symptoms in a healthy person,
then it
can stimulate self-healing of similar symptoms in a sick person.
The homeopath tries to get a complete picture of the
person's individual
experience of their condition, and then chooses a homeopathic remedy
that best
matches that person's unique set of symptoms.
The principle of similars was developed into a system of
medicine called
Homeopathy (meaning 'similar suffering') by the German physician Samuel
Hahnemann in the late 1700's, but the concept dates back to the time of
Hippocrates. The exact mechanism by which Homeopathy works is unknown,
but 200
years of clinical experience, along with research published in such
medical
journals as The Lancet, Pediatrics, and the British Medical
Journal have confirmed Homeopathy's effectiveness.
Homeopathic remedies are prepared from natural
substances and are used in
extremely small amounts. They are recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration, are non-toxic and, when properly administered, can be
safely
used with infants, children, and adults. There are no known or
suspected
contraindications or drug interactions between homeopathic and
conventional
drugs.
Naturopathic Care
Acute Conditions. Colds, flu, ear
infections, and other routine
illnesses can be helped with naturopathy. Potentially serious problems
such as
kidney infections, chest pain, pelvic pain, undiagnosed abdominal pain,
and
others will be referred to your primary care physician for diagnosis
and
management.
Chronic conditions. Chronic
conditions can be greatly helped by
naturopathic medicine. Naturopaths are trained to help clients with
conditions
which include, but are not limited to the following:
- Gallbladder disease Crohn's disease
- Liver Dysfunction Constipation
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome Hepatitis
- Ulcers, heartburn Diabetes
- Rheumatoid Arthritis MS
- PMS, Perimenopause Acne
- Fibrocystic Breast Disease Eczema
- Prostate Disease Sinusitis
- Heart Disease Hypertension
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Asthma
- Allergies Fibromyalgia
- Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

Naturopathy in
Pennsylvania
The PA Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PANP) is
comprised of
naturopaths throughout Pennsylvania who have graduated from four-year
naturopathic medical programs. The PANP is working with state
representatives
to pass a bill that would license naturopathic doctors. The PANP feels
that
licensure is important for the following reasons.
- Naturopathic doctors offer valuable, natural
healthcare options.
- Naturopathic doctors increase healthcare access and
affordability by
focusing on preventative measures that lower long-term health care
costs.
- Licensing naturopathic doctors offers public safety
and accountability.
This is a consumer rights issue. Consumers have the right to know that
their
health car professional has met rigorous standards for education,
training and
testing. Consumers deserve qualified, competent, safe choices for
natural
healthcare.
You can help license ND's by writing a letter to or
meeting with your local
representative and encouraging him/her to support naturopathic
licensure.
